Breeding: Easy. Reproduces in the usual livebearer fashion. Planted tank for cover including floating plants is also a good idea. The adult fish are less cannibalistic than many livebearer species and can be left in the aquarium.
Gender Identification: The male is smaller and possesses a large gonopodium
Compatibility: Peaceful livebearer community fish provided enough cover for fry.
Care: Temp 70-84F pH 7-8
Notes: Endemic to Central America: Rio Sixaola, Costa Rica. Uncommon in the trade and endangered in the wild. Fry look exactly like parents from birth including four tiny black spots.
